Summit DM/HE-546
We climbed .. well, slowly walked .. up SOTA summit DM/HE-546 today. A beautiful place, very peaceful despite some gusty winds.
Now that I have this new end fed Antenna toy, this would be a fabulous summit to activate. I still think of what equipment would be good for a SOTA activation. 2m/70cm of course but then again, the little hill is too low. I was hoping for the FT897 but what batteries would I drag up there? The ones that fit into the device would be perfect of course but they are insanely expensive. A custom NICD/NIMH pack? Lead gel? LiPo cells?
Anyway, today it was research time only.
