Radio Direction Finding ARDF
My wife and I participated in an Amateur Radio Foxhunt last weekend. I must admit I thought this was a bit weird in the beginning, running through the forest with headphones, pointing suspicious devices at random objects.
It turns out this is much fun though! A bit like Geocaching.
Lessons learned:
- Next time bring the compass and a pencil
- Expect to be running
- Bring shoes that will get dirty
- Run like hell while the chased fox is transmitting
- This might be an opportunity to bring friends
