ebook2cw for the MAC

I have been using the fabulous website LCWO for a while now since I am struggling with my desire to learn CW (Morse code).

Fabian, DJ1YFK, has created a website which offers a multitude of training programs and can be used almost anywhere. I particularly like the word training pages and found myself totally surprised that I can now reliably copy 12WPM when typing the results into a text editor and 6 to 7 wpm if I just listen without pen and paper. Lovely! Maybe.. one day.. I might be fast enough to try a real QSO.

Fabian offers another nice toy, which is a command line tool that can convert entire ebooks into CW mp3 files. It is called ebook2cw and Fabian publishes the source code on this page. 

Sadly there is no Mac OS X binary so I compiled one on my system. In case somebody else needs it, find the binary for Snow Leopard and the manpage of Fabians original distribution in the attached zip-file!

Update: Fabian published an updated version which supports MP3 as well as OGG as output format now.
